What is it?

Bakuchiol (pronounced buh-KOO-chee-all or buh-KOO-chee-ol) is a natural, plant-derived compound primarily extracted from the seeds and leaves of the Psoralea corylifolia plant, commonly known as the Babchi plant. This plant has a long history of use in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine.​

What are the benefits?

While bakuchiol is structurally different from retinol (a derivative of Vitamin A), studies have shown that it offers many similar benefits for the skin, but generally with less irritation. It aids in maintaining the skin's structural integrity, supports the natural process of skin surface exfoliation, contributing to a smoother skin texture and a more uniform complexion, helps protect the skin from environmental stressors that can contribute to visible skin damage, exhibits properties that can help calm and comfort the skin, making it suitable for various skin types and it assists in promoting a more even skin tone and reducing the appearance of discolorations. (it is a non-comedogenic oil)
